Modern society is suffering increasingly from tension and stress.
Life around us seems to be speeding up and we are trying to keep up which is leading to stress-related illnesses The natural reaction is often to drive oneself harder to keep up. But trying too hard for too long has its costs, to our health, to our relationships and to our sense of self. We tend to forget that relaxation is a necessary part of our life. All living things go through cycles of activity followed by rest and recuperation; only humans try to carry on with insufficient rest.
